Finished the book yesterday afternoon. I couldn't put it down - it was like spending time with a long time friend who bared her soul to you. What an adventure!! Diane must be an amazing person. Her journey from young devoted bride to self sufficient woman is incredible. I would love to meet her in person as I feel I know her already.
I will certainly share this book with family and best friends and would love to read any future books she writes. A little of every one of us is one each page. Thank you for sharing this book with me. Aloha, Jan

Hi Rocky (or Hermione Melville),
I just finished reading In Poseidons Pocket and I want to tell you how much I enjoyed it. Congratulations! You are a first class writer with superior observational and rich descriptive skills. Each of the chapters was gripping and a satisfying read Its very impressive that all of those adventures could have actually happened to one person and that you remember so much detail about each. Im only sorry that there was so much grief for you in living through that. (By the way, as a result of your book, I have decided to cancel my ambitious plans to become a geriatric commercial fisherman.)

Rocky, I couldn't put it down! I was into your fishing/boat adventure. Now, I know I'll never be a sailor. The storms, hard work and having the LUCK to be where the fishing was good, plus the knowledge to use the proper gear--WOW. I really felt like I was there. Loved your thoughts and feelings-cleaning fish, trying to cook during high seas etc.,etc. When is your Next book ready for me to read? Keep-on writing. Your new fan-Dee

What a great adventure and a mythic love story. It was a thrilling read. And what about that dog...divine.
Even with all the hardship, their love for the sea was palpable. It makes me yearn to pit myself against Mother Nature. This book should be a movie. Bravo!

I read chapter 6 and it reminded me of one of my nightmares. I wasn't on a boat though I was on a space ship and I saw my life flash before me as I thought I was gonna die. Your writing is very descriptive, which kept it interesting. I thought for a moment I was actually surrounded by kelp flies (yuck) as a mosquito buzzed by my ear! However, I could actually feel the cold water Wes sprayed on you to get rid of the flies. I enjoyed very much. Thank you.

I just finished devouring Poseidon's Pocket(I metered my reading though as I did not want the book to end).
Thank you so very much for sharing your story with me. I was moved to laughter, tears, anger, and awe by your words. The spirit of Wes, and Cleo, and Reward, and that time in your life are forever honored in this book.
How well you put into words your heart, and how brave to share it with such honesty. This book stands right up there with some of the national best selling books that I have read. I can't wait to share it with my like-minded friends and family. Thank you.
I also look forward to enjoying this fabulous web page.

Aloha Rocky, verrry nice! Thank you so much. Makes me realize I wasn't alone in my "searching"
back in those days. I sent this email to dsh & though I should share it with you as well. Aloha, robert
"Hey Diane, just got finished reading Rocky's book. Wow..She's a great writer. Very "wordy" from a "guys" stand point as far as explaining her....dare I say.... feelings/emotions. However perfect for the girls in that respect and more than enough action/adventure to keep me interested. And I could actually feel the excitement & adrenaline coursing through my veins as the story literally pulls you into the action. It was a 2 day, will not put this down except for bathroom, food & work breaks read. Now that I've met "Diane" I feel a little in awe of the person I know of as "Rocky". Who knew?!
I could definitely relate to Wes & what he went through as far as trying to impress his father by going off to war to save and serve his country and balance the demons of fear & rage with the angels of love & passion upon returning. I'd also have to rate this story as one of my favorites and look forward to a not to distant re-read.
Thanks for sharing & thanks for helping Rocky get this wonderful rue life adventure, drama, & love story out.
Aloha, Robert"

As a friend of mine has said, you are courageous in the way you share your innermost thoughts and responses to the deepest questions of our existence on this planet. To be able to articulate it all so beautifully in poetry and prose is such a gift, a gift you share so generously with your readers who immediately become your friends. "Meanderings" is my constant companion. Thank you, thank you!
